The University of California, Merced is recruiting between one and four Assistant, Associate, or Full Professors as part of a cluster hire in the area of Inequality, Power, and Social Justice focused on issues related to 1) Identity, Experience, and Representation and 2) Structural and Institutional Inequality. Successful applicants will demonstrate how their empirical work examines issues of inequality, power and social justice, with the potential to build upon the Sociology Department’s strengths in social inequality, immigration, race, gender, education, political sociology and globalization, or to complement these strengths in related areas with an innovative research focus. Most jobs won't even let me have more than 3. 5 NAMES of refs is for full/assoc (for a tenure review, only contacted if you make short list). 3 references for assistant candidates.

No updates, but according to academic jobs wiki they received around 1400 applications. So it's possible they're still in review process.
