The Department of Sociology at the University of West Georgia solicits applications for one assistant professor position starting August 2017. A PhD in sociology or related discipline is required at the time of appointment. We are a growing department with teaching opportunities in our BS and MA degree programs. We encourage applications from those who have teaching and research interests in the sociology of health and illness. The ability and desire to teach statistics is preferred. Successful candidates need a strong commitment to teaching, an active research agenda, and dedication to service to the university and community.
