The Department of Sociology & Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position to begin August 2017. We seek a candidate with a strong commitment to high quality research and undergraduate education and primary expertise in the study of race and ethnicity. We particularly encourage applicants with an interest in crime, imprisonment, and social justice. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds and will be expected to teach introduction to sociology; research methods or sociological theory; and advanced courses in their areas of expertise. The teaching load is 2/3 with small class sizes. The successful candidate will also be expected to pursue an active research agenda and will have the opportunity to supervise undergraduate research. Applicants must hold a M.A. in Sociology and Ph.D. in Sociology or Criminology or be ABD with an anticipated completion by July 31, 2017.
