I am interested in this position and intend on applying. Do you plan on doing Employment Services at ASA? I notice you aren't on the list, yet...

No employment service. But I scheduled a sit down with one of their faculty (Packard) who will be there.

I'm not in this department, but I have friends who are. They say that they won't start reviewing applications until the first week of October, so there is still time if anyone out there is interested.

What's the teaching load here? Tried to figure it out by looking at the class schedule, but it seems highly variable. Does anyone know what's normal?

I am pretty sure it is a 3/3 with a lot of service.

Have you ever been to Greeley? It smells. Bad. Who would want to move there?

I think they have plenty of applicants (last two searches got over 100 each).
Yes, teaching load is typically 3/3. Dunno about service in that department, but nobody seems unhappy.
Oh, and Greeley is actually a great place to live...now. Not so much a decade ago when it did legitimately smell. The city has done a lot to clean things up. I've lived in Colorado for 25 years, and it's amazing how much it's transformed. Note the posted link to the NPR story from 3 years ago.
The department itself is actually pretty amazing and makes me jealous since I work with a bunch of dead weight in my dept.

it does smell bad there....I was in that part of the state visiting friends not too long ago. It's not intolerable, but there is a barnyard smell. Also sometimes very bad fumes from all the fracking.
still, you can go up to the mountains, visit Denver, etc. Not a bad place to live overall but the town has its problems.
salaries are also low and greeley is more expensive than you might think.
again, still better than a lot of other jobs.

I heard that the salary at UNC is pretty low (starting pay of 45k for TT assistant prof). Seems very poor when COL in Colorado is skyrocketing.

I believe the ASA job bank says it pays $50-60.

I would be shocked if this job paid a nickel above $50k. This place is notorious for low salaries.
