Lancaster University Law School is a vibrant school that combines the disciplines of law and criminology. Having doubled in size in four years, the School is continuing to increase its staff base and is currently seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Criminology.
We are seeking a scholar who is developing a strong reputation in a relevant research area. Holding a PhD, you will have some relevant teaching experience in undergraduate criminology. You will be expected to teach on appropriate undergraduate and postgraduate courses and to supervise doctoral students in an appropriate area. You will be given research support, including mentoring and development opportunities.
Whilst we are interested in any area of research within criminology, we are particularly interested in the areas of sentencing, organised crime, terrorism and minorities in the criminal justice process.
Please state in your application which grade you are applying for and base your application on the relevant job description and person specification. Informal enquiries are welcomed and should be made to Professor Alisdair A. Gillespie, Head of Lancaster University Law School. Tel: 01524 593706. Email: a.gillespie@lancaster.ac.uk
