DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY - 2-YEAR TERM POSITION (START FALL 2016)
GRINNELL COLLEGE. The Department of Sociology invites applications for two-year appointment beginning Fall 2016 (one year renewable for a second year contingent on review). Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) preferred; Instructor (ABD) or Associate Professor possible. Area of research is open, but the Department prefers work that supplements current strengths. The Department seeks a colleague who can complement its methodological and substantive diversity primarily as a teacher but also as a participant in a vibrant scholarly community. The teaching load is five courses over two semesters including contributions to research methods and introductory undergraduate statistics, introduction to Sociology, and courses at the mid- and advanced level in the candidate’s area of expertise.
