Job Description:
The Sociology Department of the Social Science Division at Widener University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2016. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Sociology or be in advanced ABD status. Teaching responsibilities will include courses on racial and ethnic minorities, social movements and social theory. We are especially interested in individuals who can contribute to Widener’s minor in African and African American Studies, the department’s concentration in Civic Engagement and Social Change, Widener University’s civic mission of “contributing to the vitality and well-being of the communities it serves through civic engagement and service learning,” and student-faculty collaborative research.
Job Qualifications:
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Sociology or be in advanced ABD status.
