I just needed a place to virtually SCREAM! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! I need to breathe and stay off these boards for more than 30 damn minutes. Nothing will change in the next 12 hours but I still feel the need to check compulsively. Gotta hold off. Ok. Venting done. Gonna try to go back to life.

Good news comes from the phone or email. I know it's hard but try to stay off the emotional roller coaster.

Yes, I think we all know that bad news comes from these boards, and good news comes from phone or email. I think we check to see if we're still in the running. The job market, for the most part, is an isolating experience with little information available to candidates, thus the popularity of this and the other board. It's easy to tell us not to check the board when you have a job, particularly one that is acceptable (not perfect, but someplace you don't hate).

I'll try to be more thoughtful if I ever post here again.

Thanks for the apology, though I wasn't offended. Just trying to explain why it's difficult to not check these boards
