The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track nine-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2016. The position requires a Ph.D. in Sociology. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, however the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements in Sociology by September 15, 2016. Instructional duties typically include a 3:3 teaching load, student advising, curriculum development, and may entail online instruction. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in service activities.
This tenure-track position requires a specialization focusing on the intersections of health and social inequalities. Preference will be given to candidates whose research specifically focuses on health and racial/ethnic inequalities, and who can contribute to building a curricular emphasis in Health & Social Inequalities.
