Elon University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a focus on (1) race and ethnicity and (2) crime/social justice. Additional expertise in one or more of the following areas - community studies, economic sociology, globalization/industrialization, and political sociology - are welcomed. The position will begin mid-August 2016. Ph.D. in Sociology required.
Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching in a liberal arts environment, willingness to teach in their areas of specialization, criminal justice studies, research methods, and interdisciplinary courses in Elon’s Core Curriculum. Candidates are expected to pursue an active research agenda and will have the opportunity to supervise undergraduate research, and should be pursuing an active scholarship agenda.
