St. Norbert College, a nationally ranked, residential liberal arts institution with an enrollment of 2,200 students, invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor in Sociology beginning August 2016. The position requires a Ph.D. in Sociology or Social Work with a MSW from a CSWE accredited program and at the time of appointment; areas of specialization open. A demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting is essential.
Responsibilities include teaching three classes per semester, advising students, maintaining an active research agenda, and collegial service. The successful candidate will contribute to our Department’s minor in human services, which includes social work practice methods courses. In addition, faculty are expected to design and teach courses in the College’s Core Curriculum program. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to mentor undergraduates interested in pursuing social work and related fields and will have vision to further develop our active human services minor.
