I do research on Latin America and would like to have my work printed in Spanish to reach a wider audience of people who I think would be interested (but I publish it in English first both to reach an international audience and for it to count for tenure/job market). Does anyone here know about sociology, Latin American studies, or related field journals that would re-print translations of stuff published elsewhere? If so, do you know if you need to send a translated version or so they evaluate the English version and if accepted, they translate it or ask you to translate it? I'd be thankful for any information.

I not only work on Latin America, but I also am from Latin America. In terms of visibility, you shouldn't worry, since most of the top research countries in the region will have access to top American journals. Personally, I am not aware of any journals that reprint submitted translations. Sometimes university presses will issue volumes with collected articles translated, but those are based more on networks (knowing the editor, etc) then on open submission policies.
