The Department of Sociology at Boston College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position to begin in Fall 2016. We are seeking to hire a qualitative scholar at the Assistant Professor level whose research agenda fits into the social justice theme of our Ph.D. program. We are particularly interested in applicants who work in the areas of critical criminology, immigration, poverty, or social movements, but will consider the applications of candidates working in other substantive areas. Applicants should apply at apply.interfolio.com/30199. Required documents include a cover letter describing relevant research, teaching accomplishments, and plans; a current CV; two pieces of recent scholarship; and three reference letters. The references should be named in the cover letter, and applicants should arrange to have their references upload their letters to Interfolio. The screening committee will begin reviewing applications on September 14, 2015, and will continue to review them until the position is filled.
