The Department of Psychology and Sociology Program at the University of New Haven invites applications for a full-time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Sociology specializing in Social Inequality, broadly construed, beginning in Fall 2015. A doctorate in Sociology is required by the time of appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to teach general undergraduate sociology courses as well as coursework in their areas of interests. The department encourages the development of new and engaging courses that emphasize interdisciplinary and experiential education. Demonstrated creativity in developing new courses or innovation in content and delivery methods is desirable. Experience teaching online or hybrid courses is preferred. The successful candidate will teach both traditional and online courses, will serve as a department leader in developing and coordinating online courses for new university programs in the applied social sciences, and will mentor to faculty who are new to teaching courses online. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to establish a strong and independent program of research. Other duties include participation in student advising and university service.
