The Department of Sociology invites applications for one, possibly two, full time non-tenure-track nine-month Lecturer positions beginning August 2015, depending on resource availability. Candidates, at minimum, should hold a Master’s degree in Sociology. Instructional duties will include general lower-level sociology courses, with opportunities for teaching in other areas depending on the candidate’s expertise. Advising and service activities are also required.
Appalachian State University is a member institution of the sixteen-campus University of North Carolina System. Located in the scenic mountains of Boone, North Carolina, the university has approximately 18,000 students, primarily in bachelors and master programs in both liberal arts and applied fields. Appalachian has both a traditional residential campus and a variety of distance education programs.
