The Department of Sociology at The University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for a one-year Lecturer position beginning in Fall 2015.
The department offers a B.A. in Sociology with a comprehensive curriculum that covers core areas in the discipline. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses in Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, Race and Ethnicity and, possibly an additional course in the candidate’s area of expertise. The teaching load is 4 courses per semester.
Minimum qualifications for the position are an M.A. in Sociology, or at least 18 credit hours of graduate course work in sociology if the candidate’s degree is in a closely related field. Candidates with prior teaching experience and excellence in teaching will be given priority. Applications will be reviewed as they are received and will be accepted until the position is filled.
