Applications are invited for a three-year contract position in Sociology at the rank of Lecturer with a proposed commencement date of August 1, 2015. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is subject to budgetary approval. The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in Sociology of Policing, and have a focus on Deviance and Critical Criminology. Applicants should have a PhD in Sociology and a demonstrated commitment to teaching and research in the specified areas. The successful applicant will be required to teach in conjunction with the Police Studies Diploma offered by the Faculty of Arts. Applicants are asked to email a copy of their curriculum vitae, teaching portfolio, (including sample syllabi for Sociology of Policing) together with three letters of reference to the Head of Sociology, Dr. Ailsa Craig, at acraig@mun.ca.
