The Department of Sociology at Framingham State University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level to begin in Fall 2015. The department seeks candidates whose areas of expertise include race and ethnic relations and research methods. Research and teaching experience in social movements or globalization studies is preferred. Additional consideration may be given to applicants who can contribute to the department's Global Studies and Criminology programs. The position involves teaching three courses per semester, and advising students in the undergraduate majors in Sociology and Criminology. Ph.D. in Sociology at the time of appointment is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the liberal arts and public higher education. The candidate is also expected to show evidence of excellence in teaching and continued scholarly and professional growth.
