Concord University seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sociology to begin in the fall of 2015. Areas of specialization should include some combination of race, class, gender, and sexualities. Preference will be given to candidates with a doctorate in sociology and experience with teaching, advising, curriculum development and service. We seek a broadly trained sociologist, and special consideration will be given to candidates with a structural perspective. Dedication to excellent teaching in a liberal arts environment and willingness to work collaboratively with students is essential. The candidate will also be expected to teach Introduction to Sociology and Social Problems along with courses in their specialization. The position may include on-line courses and/or off-campus teaching. Concord University is a liberal-arts university serving approximately 2,700 students, located in the mountains of rural southern West Virginia. We need someone who is flexible and willing to teach a variety of courses or even bring new courses to us.
