Assistant Professor, Sociology
Department Sociology-0433
Function Full Time, non-tenure track, renewable faculty member in the Department of Sociology in the area of criminology, beginning Fall of 2015.
Responsibilities: -Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission in Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Responsible to teach 12 credit hours per semester in the Department of Sociology. Will teach a combination of general undergraduate courses, including social inequalities and research methods. Background in criminology with interest in topics such as incarceration, the criminalization of particular communities, and the intersections of the criminal justice system with other social institutions.
-Student advising, curriculum development, and service to the department, college and university.

Minimum Qualifications PhD in Sociology. Interest in undergraduate research, public sociology, civic engagement, as well as a demonstrated strong record of excellence in teaching.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to teach courses using service learning or other experiential pedagogies will be considered an additional strength.
