Duties: The primary responsibility will be to teach the Department of Sociology’s Concentration in Criminology, including elective courses in the candidate’s area of expertise in addition to core required sociology classes. The teaching load is typically three courses per semester. The candidate should have expertise in the areas of criminology and deviance with preference being given to those utilizing critical criminology perspectives. The successful applicant will also be expected to demonstrate and maintain a strong scholarly agenda, to advise students and to contribute to the life and work of the department and the college.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in sociology or criminology required; exceptional ABD candidates with a firm completion date will be considered. Post- secondary teaching experience highly desired.
