The Department of Sociology at the University of West Georgia solicits applications for one tenure-track assistant professor position starting August 2015. A PhD in sociology or related discipline is required at the time of appointment. We are a growing department with teaching opportunities in our BS and MA degree programs. We encourage applications from those who have teaching/research interests in research methodology (broadly construed), discipline-specific writing, and one of the following areas: race/ethnicity, health, education, social services, global/comparative studies. Successful candidates need a strong commitment to teaching, an active research agenda, and dedication to service to the university and community.
