The Department of Sociology at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to begin Fall 2015. Area of specialization is open, but the applicant will be expected to contribute to one or more of the core strengths of the department in social inequality, population studies, and global social change. Duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, publication, and service to the department, college, and university. Applicants should at a minimum have a PhD in hand or expected by August 2015, demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, and have a clearly defined research agenda. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter that includes a description of current and planned research, current Curriculum Vitae, writing sample, and three letters of reference to: Search Committee Chair, Department of Sociology, The University of Texas at Austin, via SOCfac@austin.utexas.edu.
