Department Profile The Department offers a BA, MS, and Ph.D. in Sociology, a BA in Criminology and a BSW in Social Work. The department consists of 20 faculty members (16 in Sociology and 4 in Social Work), over 450 undergraduate majors, and over 40 sociology graduate students.
Position Function Assistant Professor
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Active participation in the teaching, research, and service responsibilities of the department. Maintain an instructional load of up to twelve hours per semester in introductory, advanced undergraduate and graduate courses. Participate in departmental activities.
Minimum Qualifications A Ph.D. in Sociology is required for appointment. The primary area of research and teaching will be in social demography with an ability and willingness to teach quantitative methods at the graduate level. Secondary areas of specialization are open, though specialization in areas of research and teaching that include rural, community, or international development are preferred.
Will ABD's (all but dissertation) be considered? No
