The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in sociology to begin August 2015. Specialization is open, though particular attention will be paid to critical sociologists whose work addresses race/ethnicity, religion, education, and/or politics. We also seek candidates who can contribute to an introductory course organized around social issues in a global context, and whose work has an applied focus, especially in the classroom. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and a strong scholarly agenda. A Ph.D. required by the expected start date.
