applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning
in Fall 2015. A Ph.D. in Sociology is required. The department seeks an
active scholar who will increase the strength of the department in quantitative research methods and statistics.
Priority will be given to candidates with substantive interests in at
least one of the following areas: crime/deviance, environmental
sociology, social stratification and inequality, social movements, or
social psychology. However, other areas of specialization will be
considered. Salary is competitive and negotiable. We seek candidates
with a strong potential for research and publication. The successful
candidate will contribute to graduate training in quantitative methods
and play a significant role in both the graduate and undergraduate
programs. Oklahoma State University is a comprehensive research
institution with an approximate enrollment of 25,000. The Department of
Sociology offers Doctorate, Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees. Teaching
