Anyone else have their references contacted for letters? Just wondering whether they asked everyone, or whether they're starting to really narrow it down a bit.

Yes. Since it's a universal online application it automatically sends a request to references once you submit their information. From what I gather, the department will be contacting the references directly when they narrow the list.

I submitted my application weeks ago, however, and my references received emails asking for letters just a few days ago.
Also, their job ad says:
They also should provide the names and email addresses of three individuals prepared to speak to their professional qualifications for this position. Referees will not be contacted immediately but might be at subsequent points in the review process.
So, you may be right, but I just wondered whether anyone else had had their references contacted.

Original poster here. I'm still wondering whether anyone else has had their references contacted and asked to upload letters to their website.
Also, does anyone know anything else about this search? Deadline was Oct. 1.

My people have not been contacted, so take it as a good sign.

I hate to be "that guy" and ask about the status of this job, but it has been almost a month since their deadline. Does anyone know anything?

I have "heard" they have a short list (~15 or so people) but have not yet whittled it down to the three or so candidates they will invite in. My guess is that talks will be during the two weeks before Turkey Day. Good luck!

The wiki was updated to indicate that LUC has requested additional materials. They asked at the beginning for pretty much everything you could imagine, though. Could this be referring to a request for letters of rec? Anyone have any info?

I understand the list has been narrowed, but no interviews scheduled as of yet. I do not know about any requests for additional materials.
