The Department of Sociology at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor. The Department is seeking to hire a criminologist (including, but not limited to, those studying the causes and consequences of crime, issues pertaining to social control, deviance, and the sociology of law). Special interest will be given to candidates who can also complement the department’s other areas of expertise, including population and health, race and ethnicity, gender, culture, power and inequality, and environmental sociology. The applicant will be expected to teach in the graduate and undergraduate programs. The appointment will begin August 2015 and applicants must have a PhD in sociology, criminal justice, or a comparable field by the time of the appointment.
