Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice (full-time tenure track position)
The Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Social Work, one of seven departments in the Pamplin College or Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, is seeking to grow with the addition of a tenure-track faculty line at the Assistant Professor level.
The full-time tenure-track appointment begins in Augusta 2015, and includes teaching courses in the criminal justice program and potentially in the Master of Public Administration Criminal Justice Track. Advising, engaging in scholarly activity and research, and providing service to the community and profession are expected.
DEPARTMENT: The Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Social Work is a growing program with the potential for the addition of graduate programs. We have more than 400 majors, about half of whom are criminal justice students. We are looking for someone who will fit our very collegial department where faculty work together on building programs, research/scholarship, and service.

All areas of research and teaching will be considered, but ideally we are seeking to fill in gaps in the areas of drug policy and/or policing. Candidates must demonstrate a strong potential for research. Salary is competitive, and commensurate with training, education, and experience.
UNIVERSITY: Georgia Regents University, Augusta, fosters the intellectual growth of its students, and cultivates faculty who are excellent in teaching, active in scholarship, and generous in service. In January 2013, Augusta State University was consolidated with Georgia Health Sciences University into Georgia Regents University, a Georgia Research I institution. Located in beautiful Augusta, Georgia, in an historic area of the South, GRU is an up and coming, exciting institution to join at this time. Located within easy driving distance to Atlanta, Savannah, Hilton Head, and Charleston, Georgia Regents University is a growing, competitive institution with exciting vision for the greater good.
