The Science in Society Program of Wesleyan University, Middletown, CT USA, seeks to hire a tenure-track assistant professor beginning July 2015, with research and teaching interests in the social or cultural aspects of health, disease, and health care, focused on the United States. Teaching responsibility includes survey course on social/cultural aspects of medicine and health. The Science in Society Program offers an interdisciplinary undergraduate major in the history, philosophy and social studies of science, technology, and medicine, taught by faculty from multiple disciplines. Ph.D. in a relevant academic discipline, in hand or near completion, is required at time of appointment. Affiliation with another program or department is negotiable.
