We seek a highly-motivated, energetic faculty member to join a talented faculty at an extremely dynamic and exciting time in the University of Delaware's College of Health Sciences.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in health behavior and health promotion, establishing a research program, supervising health promotion Master's and interdisciplinary PhD students, and university service.
QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate in Behavioral Science, Health Psychology, Community or Public Health, Health Promotion/Education or related field. Demonstrated potential to conduct externally-funded research, publish research-based papers, provide quality teaching, direct graduate research, and collaborate with other researchers.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Department of Behavioral Health and Nutrition (BHAN) has over 700 undergraduates participating in five majors, including Health Behavior Science, Applied Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, and Health and Physical Education. Graduate programs support over 50 students in Health Promotion, Human Nutrition, and Health Coaching. BHAN is known for dynamic teaching and rapidly growing research opportunities. BHAN and the College of Health Sciences' inter-disciplinary environment provide highly supportive career development tools and infrastructure that promotes faculty innovation and growth in research and teaching.
The College of Health Sciences is a thriving academic unit of over 2000 students and approximately 100 faculty with state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities. Including the departments of Behavioral Health and Nutrition, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology, Medical Technology, and Physical Therapy, and the School of Nursing, the College is currently transitioning to exciting new facilities on the University's Science, Technology, and Advanced Research campus in one of the nation's leading life science regions.
Founded in 1743, the University of Delaware combines tradition and innovation, offering students a rich heritage along with the latest in instructional and research technology.
