The Department of Sociology at Portland State University (www.pdx.edu/sociology) invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor to begin September 2015. The area of expertise is open, but preference will be given to candidates whose substantive research area and teaching strengths are in social psychology and/or education. The Department of Sociology at PSU includes Ph.D. and M.A./M.S. programs, as well as a large undergraduate program. Faculty members in the department represent areas of concentration including Criminology, Education, Environment, Family, Gender, Medical, Race/Ethnicity, Social Class/Stratification, Social Movements, and Urban Sociology. A successful candidate will be able to contribute to the department’s strengths in these areas. jobs.hrc.pdx.edu/postings/13009

(the specializations in social psych and educ seem to indicate that this is the case)

The load is 2-2-2- since there is a quarter system. Pete Collier did retire this year.
