The Department of Sociology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for a term assistant professor beginning August 2014. This small and collegial department has an undergraduate program within a teaching-centered research institution. The department's curriculum focuses on social justice and social inequality. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a core curriculum course, Individual, Society and Culture (SOC100X) and other lower and upper division courses in rotation, depending on the interests of the candidate and the needs of the department. Ideal candidates will have a record of scholarly research and publication.
