IUP REACH Conference - Understanding and Responding to Violence and Trauma - May 20-23, 2014
For those that may be interested, consider attending the Inaugural IUP REACH conference and pass this information along to others.
This wonderful and affordable multidisciplinary research and training conference is focused on understanding, responding to, and prevention of violence and trauma across the lifespan. It will be held at Indiana University of Pennsylvania on May 20th-23rd from 11am to 8pm.
Attendees will be exposed to the latest research and clinical intervention techniques in violence prevention from multiple fields and have many formal and informal opportunities for personal interactions with national experts in the field of violence education.
The conference will be hosting world-class speakers in the area of violence and trauma research and advocacy, including David Finkelhor, Nan Stein, Victor Vieth, Ed Gondolf, and Coreen Farris. Yet the cost of registration for this four-day conference is only $150.00.
We are excited to have recently added an additional keynote speaker to our Thursday, May 22nd schedule, Dr. Anthony D'Augelli who will give the talk "Invisible Damage: The Victimization of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Trangender Children, Youth, and Adults."
Undergraduate and Graduate students are able to register for a 3 credit course that supplements the conference - registration is free when students enroll in the course.
If you are unable to attend all four days of the conference, there are also daily rates.
I have provided a link with additional information about the conference and on the speakers for anyone interested. Please disseminate this information to your network of colleagues and consider attending.
