If I want to send out a commentary/op-ed piece to a newspaper, then should I only send it to one newspaper, like we'd do with academic journals? Or does it work differently in the world of newsprint, and one can send it to as many papers as possible to see if one of them will pick it up?

So I have had an experience publishing an op-ed. When I did it with it some major newspapers by and large they hada clause saying that should only submit to them. The turn around time was fast though typically less than a week. If you don't here somethng after a week I think you are pretty much ok to submit again. This is just my experience
