The Department of Sociology and Criminology at the University of New Mexico invites applications for two Lecturer III positions (one in sociology, one in criminology) at UNM West’s campus in Rio Rancho. Appointments begin Fall 2014, pending budgetary approval. These are non-tenure track teaching positions that entail 4 classes per semester of various general sociology or criminology courses.
UNM-West is an extension of the University of New Mexico. It is located in Rio Rancho, a short distance outside Albuquerque. New Mexico is one of the most diverse states in the nation and offers a wide range of cultural experiences and recreational opportunities.
Minimum qualification is a Ph.D. in Sociology or Criminology or related field, to be awarded by August 1st, 2014.
Preferred qualifications are 1) evidence of a strong teaching record; 2) ability to teach a range of lower and upper division undergraduate courses in sociology and/or criminology; and 3) a demonstrated commitment to working with broadly diverse students and communities.
