Here's a post from the ASA job bank for a research intensive job (2 or 3 courses a year) in Chile. Pay is lower than the US but the cost of life is also significantly lower. Could be a good escape from the saturated market, or a good option to get more publications and come back.

Social Scientists/Economist Specialized in Interethnic Relations, Stratification and Inequality
The Sociology Department of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile invites applications for an appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor specialized in Interethnic Relations to begin in August 2014, and who can contribute to the consolidation of our department and join the Interdisciplinary Center for Intercultural and Indigenous Studies (ICIIS).
We seek candidates with special interest in the comprehensive understanding of modern inter-ethnic relations, stratification and inequality. Priority will be given to candidates that discuss the main issues of contemporary theory of inter-ethnic relations, develop comparative analysis, who employ advanced quantitative methods, and have potential to maintain a successful publishing career.
Dedication and ability to teach undergraduate and graduate levels is required (2 to 3 courses a year in a semester system). The successful candidate will have a PhD at the time of appointment. Full fluency in Spanish is expected by the first year of employment. Salary is between US$35000 – US$40000 per annum. Employer will assist with relocation costs.
