Hello qualitative research colleagues!
Does anyone have any suggestions about an application for recording Skype interviews? I'm a Linux user and this isn't a feature in Skype for Linux as far as I can see.
Thanks for any advice or ideas!

Do you mean audio, or do you also want to record video? I use Audacity to audio record Skype interviews, and it will pick up both ends of the conversation, unlike some other programs. You can download it for free at: audacity.sourceforge.net/If you need video too, perhaps someone else has suggestions for that.

If you are using Linux check out ffmpeg, which can do a complete capture of audio and video. Assuming that you are logged in as root using something from the Debian family, open a terminal window and type:
apt-get update apt-get install ffmpeg
then typing 'man ffmpeg' should give you all the information that you need. Another option is recordmydesktop, which you can install (again as root) by:
apt-get update apt-get install recordmydesktop
then use 'man recordmydesktop' to build your command.
