Note: There are two sociology openings for visitors next year. This one is social theory. The other is for law/crime and/or urban sociology.
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Carleton College invites applications for a visiting appointment in Sociology commencing September 1, 2014. We seek candidates with teaching expertise in social theory; additional substantive areas are open. Carleton operates on a trimester schedule and the teaching load for this position consists of five courses spread across three terms. The successful candidate will offer a breadth of courses at every level of instruction, and is dedicated to excellent teaching in a liberal arts environment, welcomes opportunities to work with students as partners in learning, and is committed to teaching a diverse student body. Preference will be given to candidates with either a Ph.D. or advanced ABD status by September 2014.
