Basic Function:
Kent State University at Stark invites applications for a full-time, nine month, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Sociology, beginning Fall, 2014. The department specializes in the areas of health care/mental health, social psychology, criminology and deviance, and inequality (race/ethnicity, class and gender).
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A Ph.D. in Sociology with evidence of scholarship and teaching excellence required. ABDS wil be considered if degree requirements are completed by August 15, 2014.
We are seeking faculty whose teaching and research advance the specialized areas of the department and who have a strong interest in teaching. We also seek candidates who are prepared to teach theory in support of the required coursework in the major. Experience with on-line/hybrid is a plus. The position carries a 12 credit hours per semester with the expectation of teaching excellence, a developing research career, professional development, and service to campus and community.
