To follow up on another thread, what's the average time from an R&R (that has been revised and resubmitted) to hearing the next decision. I assume it should be shorter than a regular submission but am not quite sure (it's been 5 months)...

Hi Anony, 5 months is on the long side, from my experience. Of course, there is variation. My last two times resubmitting a revised paper I got a decision in 2-3 months, after initial reviews that took 3-4 months.

Thanks, Friend1, I thought that it's a bit excessive but don't think I can do anything. I've tried emailing the editor but have gotten no response
