Saint Josephs College is seeking a dynamic, broadly trained, student-centered educator willing to lead the faculty in excellence, innovative teaching and curriculum development in a Catholic liberal arts institution. The successful candidate should possess the ability to teach a wide variety of undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Sociology, Social Theory, Social Problems, Social Stratification, Sociology of Education, and others. Additional courses in sociology and social psychology may be expected. Participation in our interdisciplinary Core Curriculum and willingness to update and develop curricula including in online, hybrid, or blended courses is assumed. The candidate should be experienced in the use of technology relevant to teaching and learning.
The normal teaching load for a tenure track faculty member is 12 credit hours per semester. Teaching during summer and winter terms is optional. Advising students is required and faculty leadership in innovation and participation in committees, scholarship and service to the College and community is expected.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Sociology is required. Demonstrated excellence in teaching, creative activity, scholarship and service is expected.
