The Department of Sociology at Calvin College invites applications for a one-year term position beginning in the fall of 2014. The department is open to candidates in all areas of specialization. Requirements for this position include a Ph.D. in Sociology, evidence of quality teaching experience, and a commitment to scholarly research.
Calvin College seeks faculty members who affirm the Christian faith as expressed by the Reformed confessions and who have academic and personal qualifications for teaching and scholarship. Calvin is building a tradition of diversity and accessibility and welcomes applications from persons whose personal characteristics will further that commitment. Calvin does not discriminate in the employment of individuals on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, disability, sex, or age. Calvin College is a Christian educational institution operated by the Christian Reformed Church and, in compliance with Title VII and other applicable law, reserves the right to give preference in employment based upon religion. Persons interested in applying or who wish to make nominations should correspond with the Provost’s Office or Todd VandenBerg, Department Chair, via email to his assistant at slt8@calvin.edu. Further specifics are posted on the college website: www.calvin.edu/go/facultyopenings.
Each applicant should submit a CV and a letter addressing his or her teaching philosophy and experience, research plans, and interest in teaching at a Christian college. These two items should be combined in a single pdf file and sent as an email attachment to slt8@calvin.edu. Additional information, including academic transcripts and letters of recommendation, may be requested during the review process.
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
I moved the follow-up post to a new status thread.
