How many times have you had to revise and resubmit a paper before it was accepted for publication? Is there an average?

Not a seasoned veteran here (9 peer-reviewed articles under my belt) but of the 5 R&Rs I've had none have required a second revision. All of them were accepted or conditionally accepted with minor changes.
FWIW none of the journals, to my knowledge, are in the habit of giving out multiple RRs (like AJS, ASR etc). Also most of them (can't remember for certain) only sent the pieces out to three reviewers and gave decisions once two had weighed in.

Have more than 30 peer reviewed pubs and most have only gone through 1 revision. I have had 2 papers accepted outright, not revisions. Once I did 2 intensive revisions and then they decided to reject it. 2 other times I had a paper go through 3 revisions before acceptance.
