Keuka College, located on the western shore of beautiful Keuka Lake in the heart of New York’s Finger Lakes Region, has a proud heritage as a liberal arts college. We invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Sociology, with teaching and/or research interests in Sociology of the Family and Environmental Sociology. We value quality in teaching first and foremost, and we thus seek enthusiastic scholars who likewise value and enjoy working closely with an undergraduate population in a student-centered, liberal arts-based environment. The successful candidate will enjoy teaching both Sociology majors and non-majors. The teaching assignment will require courses such as, Sociology of the Family, Social Problems, Environmental Sociology, Methods of Social Research and, of course, Introduction to Sociology. We are looking for a dynamic educator with a global focus who will help grow the Sociology program.

RANK: Assistant Professor of Sociology
ACCOUNTABILITY:
*Teach undergraduate Sociology courses to both majors and non-majors
* Teach courses in the following areas: Sociology of the Family; Environmental Sociology; Social Problems; Introduction to Sociology and Methods of Social Research
* Teaching load is 4/4
* Participate in evaluation and development of program curriculum
* Participate in curricular and program assessment
*Serve as academic advisor to Sociology majors
* Work with students on projects and field periods
* Contribute to the College and Division through participation in College functions
QUALIFICATIONS:
*PhD in Sociology (ABD considered if defense date is scheduled before 8/15/14)
*Candidates must demonstrate interest in, and the potential for, excellence in undergraduate teaching
