Have people received rejections yet or is it only the first round of interviews?

I haven't heard either way, and my guess is that most of us will receive rejection emails tomorrow.

Anyone heard of any rejects today? I hope they go out today. It will be nice to know even if it is a rejection.

For those who have applied in the past or with any insight, is it common that there is this much delay between notifications and any rejections? It seems from looking at the previous posts that they usually send out early rejections, and then a second round. Maybe this year they are waiting until after the HP notifications to send out any rejections (?). Speculations? Insight?

I applied to both programs and emailed the program officer last week when news about HSS interviews first started to trickle in. The PO said the RWJ HP people weren't meeting until Friday 12/13 at the earliest. The PO also said that dual applicants, like me, wouldn't hear anything either way until both programs made their decisions. I suspect that the HSS rejection contacts are being delayed until HP makes their decisions because dual applicants cannot interview for both programs. Assuming any dual applicants are selected for both, some spots will open up when they have to choose. The take away is that COB on Friday would be the earliest any dual applicants would be informed and they are supposed to have 2 business days to choose meaning that the rest of us will have to wait until mid-week next week to hear anything.
P.S.- I'm hoping all the people who got all the job interviews/offers thin out the herd for the rest of us to have a chance at something!

For what's it worth--did the program office confirm HSS interviews had been sent out or that the committee met? Thanks for the info!

They made it sound like HSS had met and determined matches, but only HSS-only applicants who were selected were told. It was unclear whether outreach was made by the individual sites or the program office. I think in general, we just have to wait, but not for too much longer.

Was this for HSS or HP? Has anyone heard anything favorable about HP?

Rejected from HSS, but I'm sure I would have been rejected from HP too, had I applied!
