There's a mysterious "other required document" in the online system. Anyone know what it is we're supposed to upload there?

The deadline is 12/31. I'm not sure why there is a "other required document," but there is no need to upload anything. If you have an additional documentn that you would like to include (ex: sample syllabi, an additional sample of scholarly work, etc.) I guess you can (assuming the system allows it). However, it absolutely not required. I hope this helps.

I just checked and the system does allow you to add a document under the "other required document" heading. If you have one, you might consider adding a teaching portfolio.

what about these optional LOR that the applicant uploads his/herself? I only have access to one of my letters.

The LOR are listed as optional because only search finalists will be asked to provide them: "Search finalists will be asked to send official transcripts and three letters of recommendation directly to the Sociology and Human Services Search Committee Chair." In other words, there is no need to provide them at this point. I'm not sure why they even gave the option.

Due to an internal administrative mistake that prevented wide-spread advertising of this position, the application deadline has been moved to 1/15/2013

Is there a contact person for this position to which I could send a question (one which can't be asked on a public forum)?

Thank you posting here. One question I have is how central to the position is the emphasis on social work-ish areas like rehabilitation, addictions, and mental health? Would you seriously consider application who do not specifically have expertise in these areas?

This truly is an open search in terms of substantive areas. The areas mentioned in the ad would compliment our Human Services Delivery and Administration program; however, this search is absolutely for our Sociology program, so we would definitely seriously consider someone who doesn't have expertise in those areas. Our main concern is that we find someone who can teach methodology.
