Hey, everyone, I'm an independent editor of academic and non-fiction writing, and I just wanted to offer a little helpful, free advice. I know all of you are busy churning out articles and books for publication, and you probably don't have much money to invest in outside editing or time to invest in even self-editing your own writing. I'd love to let you in on the proofreading method that I use when editing clients' writings. (I even gave it a snazzy name, "The Change-Up Method," just for kicks.) www.paperravenediting.com/proofread-like-pro/Once I started telling others how I proofread, I started getting tons of feedback and insight on how others proofread. So, I'd like to toss the question back to you - how do you proofread your own writing? Any special habits? Any tips you'd pass on to fellow scholars?

There is a useful thread about editing in the Questions and Advice section. You might want to add there.
