Hi all,
apparently we have a few more places going, this time for 2 year fixed-term positions in management. That is basically a 2 year VAP. Teaching load is 1:1 (or 2:0?) and focus is research publications. Note that sadly, journal articles are preferred over books, but if you could equally send your papers to ASQ or AJS, it's not a big deal. Seems like the positions have come up because a big grant went through and so a few people have gotten buyouts.
NOTE VERY TIGHT DEADLINE!!!
Basically end of the week, given time zone differences.
If you do orgs/economic sociology and could fit into OT/OB/Ops/Supply Chain/HR and you are all geared up and applying now, and you will be *completing* the PhD within 6 months, I would recommend that you go for it. We do critical management, in addition to the normal stuff, and for reference, I'm an economic sociologist from the cultural side, who had a qualitative dissertation, though I also do quant/SNA/GIS.
Please be sure to check out the online application and position description, meeting each point specified in the job description, e.g. as a list at the end of your cover letter. (PDF of job ad online: 0031931.pdf, if this link doesn't work, see our jobs website). I can take a few questions, but major questions should go to my head of department, contact details in the job description. Dept website: fbe.unimelb.edu.au/managementmarketing/
