FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
Teach undergraduate courses in Criminal Justice, including but not limited to: Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminology, Policing, Criminal Law, Corrections and Criminal Justice in the Urban Community. Participate in department and college activities, such as curriculum development, grant writing, assessment, faculty development, and mentoring student projects. Productive scholarship expected. Evening/weekend schedule may be required. This appointment will begin in the Spring Semester 2014.
QUALIFICATIONS
For Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor:
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
For Instructor:
Master's degree in area(s) of expertise, and/or active progress toward a Doctorate, or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
Ph.D in Criminal Justice or Sociology required for professional titles. For Associate and Professor, the candidate must have a record significant achievement in the field. Ph.D. preferred, but master's degree with doctoral work in progress may be considered for Instructor. Persons appointed in the Instructor title are only eligible for five annual appointments. Appointment to a professorial title subsequent to service as Instructor will only be considered if the candidate has obtained the qualifications for professorial ranks as stated above. Instructors with ABD preferred. College teaching experience preferred. Experience with instructional technology an asset.
